Dinh Tien Hoang (924-979), also known as Dinh Bo Linh, was born in Kim Lu hamlet, Dai Huu village, Dai Hoang district (now Van Bong hamlet, Gia Phuong commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province). He was credited with defeating the 12 warlords' rebellion and unifying the country. In 968, he ascended the throne, proclaimed Emperor Dai Thang Minh, renamed the country Dai Co Viet, and established his imperial capital at Hoa Lư (Ninh Binh province). Dinh Tien Hoang was the emperor who laid the foundation for the first unified centralized feudal state in Viet Nam. He also issued the country's first currency: the "Thai Binh Hung Bao" coin. In order to express the gratitude to the great contributions of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and educate the young generation about the nation's heroic historical traditions, the Ministry of Information and Communications issues the stamp set "1100th Birth Anniversary of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang (924-979)" including 01 stamp with the face value of 4,000 VND.
