Ireland Tipperary Kerry 1809 entire letter written Tipperary August 18th 1809, from Saml. Evans to the Rev Archdeacon St. Leger at Templenoe (County Kerry, 5 miles from Kenmare), with very clear TIPPERARY/108 Town Mileage Mark on face, nothing on reverse. Clearly without any postal charge, and without any Dublin transit marking, thus making this a problem item, as it appears to have been treated unofficially as a free letter, but not verified by the Free Office.
Writer mentions setting off this day for Ballyspellin (a noted spa in Kilkenny – the subject of a poem by Dean Jonathan Swift

As pure as fam'd Llewellyn,
By waters clear, come every year,
To drink at Ballyspellin.
