Traian Grosavescu (1895, Lugoj, Comitatul Caraș-Severin, Austro-Ungaria – 1927, Viena a fost un tenor român. A urmat Facultatea de Drept la Budapesta unde începe în 1914 și cursurile Academiei de Muzică. Debutează la Cluj în 1919. Pleacă la Viena în martie 1923 și cu vocea sa excepțională este pe rând angajat de Operele din Viena, Budapesta, Berlin. Câștigă stima unor muzicieni celebri precum Richard Strauss, Arturo Toscanini, Pietro Mascagni, Franz Schalk. Pe 14 februarie 1927 tenorul cântă pentru ultima dată pe scena operei din Viena, în Rigoletto. Peste numai 5 zile, pe 19 februarie, într-un acces de gelozie, este ucis cu un glonte de revolver de către soția sa, Nelly. Grosavescu urma să cânte peste o lună la Metropolitan Opera din New York. Este înmormântat în cimitirul ortodox din Lugoj….
Traian Grosavescu (1895, Lugoj, Caraș-Severin County, Austria-Hungary – 1927, Vienna was a Romanian tenor. He attended the Faculty of Law in Budapest where he started in 1914 and the Music Academy courses. He made his debut in Cluj in 1919. He left for Vienna in March 1923 and with his exceptional voice he is in turn employed by the Operas of Vienna, Budapest, Berlin. He wins the respect of famous musicians such as Richard Strauss, Arturo Toscanini, Pietro Mascagni, Franz Schalk. On February 14, 1927 the tenor sings for the last time on the opera scene in Vienna, in Rigoletto. Only 5 days later, on February 19, in a fit of jealousy, he is killed with a revolver bullet by his wife, Nelly. Grosavescu was to perform in a month at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He is buried in the Orthodox cemetery in Lugoj….
