Gentlemen, you are correct. According to Santiago Tavella Madariaga, the Salinera Española company is closely related to HAFDASA, the manufacturer of our venerable Ballester-Molina pistols. I am going to transcribe what Tavella Madariaga wrote and was published in Magnum: "Natives of Mallorca, the Ballesters belong to a traditional family based in Palma since the 18th century. Don Arturo Ballester Janer, a lawyer, who, associated with his brother-in-law, was born there Don Eugenio Molina, engineer, founded with Don R. Lozano, Don F. Salas and others the Salinera Española company, which had its supply sources in the salt mines of Torre Vieja, Cadiz and Ibiza. In 1889, Dr. Arturo Ballester Janer. He was commissioned by the Spanish Salinera to open branches in South America. What he did in the cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. In 1929, Dr. Arturo Ballester Janer and engineer Eugenio Molina founded the company Hispano Argentina Fabrica de Automoviles Sociedad Anonima ( H.A.F.D.A.S.A.)". So much for what was written by Tavella Madariaga and we can only add that the rest is well-known history...
